Welcome to the Illinois Waterway - the connecting link between Lake Michigan and the Mississippi River. Boaters would pass through four rivers, three manmade canals and eight locks to explore the Illinois Waterway.
The Illinois Waterway Visitor Center, in Ottawa, Illinois, gives a bird's-eye view of the busy Starved Rock Lock and Dam and the scenic Starved Rock area.
Visit the Tours and answer Knowledge Check questions correctly to earn virtual badges in different subjects. Complete all of the virtual badges to earn a real badge at the Illinois Waterway Visitor Center.
